Mediatek finally gave us our first look at WiFi 7 technology and looked very exciting. New tech is based on IEEE 802.11be, which is expected to be replaced by 25th nifens to be released. Based on the new showcase that MediaTek has shared, WiFi 7 must give us a wireless connection that is able to emit the same speed and bandwidth from the cable / ethernet connection.
What makes WiFi 7 very interesting is a new possibility that is opened for online applications. When the world continues to move towards streaming and online content, has a fast and reliable connection to be more important than before. Alan Hsu, Company Vice President and General Manager of Smart Connectivity Business in MediaTek, said “The launch of WiFi 7 will mark the first time WiFi can be the correct cable / ethernet replacement for the super-high bandwidth application.”
In addition, HSU noted that new technologies will become a network foundation in the industry, office and home environment. This must allow better connectivity and speed for online games, and offer a smooth connection for internet users.
With this new demo, MediaTek aims to make it very clear why future users must be enthusiastic about the launch of WiFi 7. Not only able with speed faster than current WiFi technology, but also have to handle better congestion thanks to multi -link operation (MLO ) Technology. Based on the new demo, WiFi 7 must allow your connection to move without channels at different frequencies to help reduce bandwidth problems. Along with the speed to be given, this must also ensure a better connection for anyone who uses WiFi 7 to play online games, video flow, or participate in all types of internet-based services.
However, for many people, the speed is the number one factor to be taken into account while speaking the internet. And, WiFi 7 doesn’t look like it will disappoint. In addition to overcoming congestion and interference problems with MLO, WiFi 7 can be able to reach speeds of up to 30 Gbps. It will bring WiFi 7 close to reaching 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3. At present, WiFi 6 offers a complete throughput of up to 9.6 Gbps, so WiFi 7 will offer a large increase in maximum speed.
Products with WiFi 7 are expected to arrive around 2023, and MediaTek is one of the earliest adopters of technology. We hope to see support for new standards on smartphones, laptops and other smart devices.
