The document scanner was once a general item at home and in the office, used for everything starting from the archiving of family photos to digitizing business documents. Apart from their popularity, for many consumers, smartphones have replaced the need to have a special scanner at all (through business insiders).
Although early smartphone cameras offer terrible photo quality when compared to standard digital cameras, the past few years have seen some major progress in their resolution and the overall quality of smartphone photos, as a record of Android authorities. Not only smartphone cameras are able to fully change traditional cameras for most people, but they also provide resolutions and loyalty needed to replace document scanners.
With so many manufacturers that make Android phones, your mileage can vary in terms of the quality of your specific device offered. Even so, if you want to use your Android phone as a document scanner, there are several easy ways to do it.
Google Drive is bundled with most Android devices and provides an easy way to scan documents. As Google shows, the process is quite easy. Open the Google Drive application on your Android phone. Tap the “+” icon in the lower right corner. Then, select “Scan” from the option. At this point, you may be asked to give Google Drive permission to access your camera – in particular, if this is the first time you scan documents with your cellphone. If prompted, tap “Allow.”
Then, use Google Drive to take a picture of your document. After you take a picture, you can use the Cropping tool to make sure you have captured the edge, while removing additional background images. If you need to take another photo to frame the shot correctly, or if you have more than one document to scan, follow the steps again for each photo, starting from the stage of taking the photo.
